I am Christen Roux, an artist of many facets, currently enriching my craft at The American Musical and Dramatic Academy in the bustling city of New York. Johannesburg, South Africa, is where my story began, and it’s where I first discovered my love for the stage.

My Artistic Essence

Embracing Every Role

• I thrive on diving deep into the characters I portray, fully embracing their essence. As Eliza Hamilton in Hamilton, I’ve channeled her resilience and grace. Transforming into Elphaba from Wicked has allowed me to explore the depths of defiance and courage.
• Portraying Sally Bowles in Cabaret has been a journey through the tumultuous and poignant life of a cabaret singer. And as Jenna Hutcherson in Waitress, I’ve served up a mix of vulnerability and strength, piecing together the layers of her dreams and realities.

Vocal and Musical Training

• My vocal cords have been finely tuned under the mentorship of Juilliard alumna June Kraus, whose wisdom has been instrumental in my growth as a singer.
• The Malie Kelly Academy has been another cornerstone of my musical journey, where I’ve expanded my vocal repertoire and embraced the power of song.

A Winter of Growth

• The Juilliard Winter Festival in 2021 was a pivotal moment for me. It was there that I honed my singing technique and the art of acting through song, further solidifying my commitment to musical excellence.
